Foundation Day Returneth!

Dear Friends,

Today the Grand Companies have once again decreed the newly annual Foundation Day! This year, it has been launched alongside our attack of Atomos.I am proud to proclaim that our attacks seem to have some success. We have managed to push back the mysterious beast several times. Each time, it has left fragments of unearthly voidstone in it's wake. Fortunately for us, this over-aspected mineral proves to be extremely valuable. The Grand Companies have placed a huge reward for the collection of these clusters. For my contribution, I have been raised to the rank of Chief Serpent Sergeant!

Collection outposts have been erected in all three city-states. The ether trapped within these crystals will undoubtedly prove valuable in our fight against both the Garleans and these new extra-dimensional invasions. My, what terrible perilous times we live in! Sometimes, it feel so helpless to combat the doom before us, but yet, I must fight on!

Coming Together

Dear Friends,

The rumors of the new imperial outpost in Mor Dhona are true. There can be no doubting their intentions now. They are preparing to strike Gridania. Kan-E-Senna has decided to proceed with her intentions of recreating the Eorzean Alliance. Today I was asked to officially deliver her request to the leaders of the other Grand Companies. I must admit, I didn't expect much of a warm reception. But it seems that my reputation has become quite an asset. Both leader's expressed concern for their own defenses, but promised to consider my request, pending the cooperation of all other parties. Something which seemed unlikely.

I arrived back in Gridania to advise Kan-E-Senna of my results only to be surprised by the immediate arrival of both grand company leaders. It seems my attempts to persuade them were a success! Sadly, our celebrations were short lived. The meeting was interrupted by a messenger, an Imperial airship has crashed in a remote area of Mor Dhona not far the the new Castrum Novum stronghold. As of this moment, the Imperials have not located the wreckage. This might be our chance to obtain some valuable intelligence.

Immediately, I raced to the crash site only to find I was a bit late, it was crawling with Imperial agents. I was able to combat them long enough to obtain some interesting effects from the crash site. As I was preparing to make my escape I was confronted by none other than Legatus Baelsar. I prepared for a battle like no other, but there was no need, he only wished to speak.

He seemed to suggest that the crash of this airship was no accident, rather he himself orchestrated the event. He lamented for a moment that his companion Legatus Darnus has gone completely mad. He says that the plan to control Dalamud was approved by the Emperor only due to the Darnus' deceit and trickery. He suspects that Darnus has ulterior intentions that are not in the best interest of the Empire.

If I did not know better, I'd say that Baelsar is almost hoping for that Darnus fails. He left me with an odd sense of confusion. I wonder how much of his words were lies?  I have a feeling, few if any.

I returned to Gridania and provided my intelligence to Cid Garlond. He became excited as he discovered valuable information regarding the operation of the magitek transmitter located in Castrum Novum stronghold. It is this transmitter that  seems to control Dalamud. Once we have had a chance to study it, we may be able to deal a lethal blow to the Empire's plans!

Meet "Daisy"!

Dear Friends,

Today has been an exciting day. I was finally able to procure a chocobo issuance from the Twin Adders! For some time now, I've been taking on assignments and tasks for the Grand Company. Today, while in Ul'dah on other business, I was informed by a member of the Immortal Flames that reports show the Amalj'aa beastmen may be planning an attack on Ul'dah in the coming months. It seems the Amalj'aa are breeding drakes and unleashing them on members of the company. I was tasked with sneaking into the Amalj'aa encampment of  Zahar'ak, and poisoning their supply of drake feed.

Let's me tell you, this was no easy task. To be quite honest I got in quite over my head. The place was crawling with beastmen. I sneaked my way past the gates only to walk facefirst into a party of mean looking Amalj'aa soldiers. They knocked me out cold in a single round of attack. Lucky for me, my old friend Mojo Bone was part of a company-led raid on the camp at that very moment! What a coincidence! Thanks to some well-worded healing magic from Mojo, I was back on my feet and able to finish the job.

When I reported back at the aetheryte camp I was debriefed by a member of the Immortal Flames. He didn't really seem all that interested in my mission to spike the drake's feed. Instead, he asked me repeatedly if I'd witnessed any large fire while in the camp. I advised him no, and he explained that several of his men had mentioned a large blaze moments before their linkpearls went silent. Hmmm... This does not sound very healthy!

I was awarded a good amount of serpent seals for my efforts. That is when I noticed that I finally had enough seals to redeem for a company chocobo issuance! I am now the proud owner of my very own chocobo! I was given a summoning whistle, and all the nessecary supplies needed.  Her name is Daisy and we're getting along splendidly. I spent a good part of the day riding through the Twelveswood on chocoback. Finally, the world is my  Blacklip Oyster!
